Ren-Bu-Kan is a Dungannon, County Tyrone based Club that provides teaching and coaching of judo to both young and old kids, and to adults of all ages. Children from 5 years up enjoy this Olympic sport. It is one of the top clubs in Ireland and has produced countless Irish champions and International competitors. The most famous fighter to come from this club was Avril Malley who dominated Irish judo from the mid seventies until the mid eighties. Avril has been the most successful judoka ,male or female, that has come out of Ireland. She won the bronze medal in the first ever World Championships for women which was held in New York and went on to win The British Open as well as The Swiss Open and the German Open and placed in most International events that she competed in. She was beaten for the bronze medal in the Seoul Olympics by the Japanese competitor.
Her younger sister Joyce also dominated Irish judo and won medals at top international events including the British Open. Joyce still competes to this day in the international masters events and has won the world title on eight occasions.
The club is affiliated to the Irish Judo Association which is itself affiliated to the International Judo Association.
Ren-Bu-Kan Judo Club is run by Harry McGuigan 6th Dan,Former European Masters Champion and World Silver Medallist and has the impressive record of having Irish National champions every single year since 1974 up until the present year 2008.

Jonathan Herron ,Daniel Grimley , Eoin Logan ,Oisin Murphy won gold silver and bronze at the Scottish Open while coach Harry McGuigan won the bronze medal at the London International Masters.
